Quick update to my post. The bit I quoted down below from the podcast may have come from a tweet from Adam Schiff originally. It’s still cool, but I want to make sure I’m giving proper credit. https://twitter.com/RepAdamSchiff/status/1176874772736749569

I was doing the daily dog walk today and listening to podcasts as usual. I occasionally listen to Today, Explained from Vox.com. Today, they were talking about the Trump/Ukraine scandal and explaining how there can be implicit quid pro quo even when the people involved don’t say, “I will give you $400 million in arms, but in exchange, I want you to investigate the guy who is most likely to be my Democratic opponent in the 2020 presidential election.”
Here is the section from Andrew Prokop (@awprokop), who is a Senior Politics Correspondent at Vox, summarizing what Trump said to the Ukrainian President:
“We do a lot for Ukraine. There’s not much reciprocity. I have a favor to ask. Investigate my opponent. My people will be in touch. Nice country you’ve got there. It would be a shame if something happened to her.”
